Richard A. Bryan, 86, of Lower Burrell, formerly of Franklin and a longtime resident of Seneca, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh.
Born in Clearfield on November 22, 1931 he was a son of the late, Thomas and Maude Quigley Bryan.
Dick was a graduate of Clearfield High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Dick was a Union Drummer for over fifty years. He played with numerous bands in the United States and Germany, and was a lover of the Big Band era.
He worked for a number of years in sales at the former Weaver Pontiac - Chevrolet in Seneca which is now known as Northpointe Automotive.
For a period of time, Dick assisted with preparing meals at the American Legion in Oil City. Dick will be remembered by many for walking throughout downtown Franklin and always passing out candy and a smile to those he encountered.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Dick is survived by the Reitz Family who he referred to as his "adopted family" and helped care for him over the last three and a half years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas A. Bryan and William J. Bryan; a niece, Joy Bryan and a nephew Dennis J. Bryan.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff - Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. Tuesday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Patrick Church, 949 Liberty St. Franklin with Monsignor John J. Herbein, officiating.
Interment will follow at Crown Crest Memorial Park in Clearfield.
Military honors will be rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home prior to leaving for Mass.
