Richard E. "Rick" Cauvel Jr., 70, a Franklin businessman, passed away, on Friday, March 28, 2025, after an extended illness, with family by his side.
Rick was born in Franklin, on November 4, 1954, the beloved son of Richard E. "Dick" Cauvel and Anita E. Martens Cauvel. He was the second of their three children.
Rick is survived by his beloved sister, Chris Moyse and her husband Gary. His father, Richard E. "Dick" Cauvel Sr., preceded him in death in 2015, his younger brother, James P. Cauvel and his mother, Anita E. Cauvel, preceded him in death in 2020.
Rick graduated from Franklin High School in 1973, and immediately after graduation, he went to work in his families businesses, Cauvel's Auto Sales in Franklin and Reno and Cauvel's Mobile Home Park.
Family was extremely important to Rick. He truly enjoyed working with his family every day and helping their businesses to grow, as well as, providing needed services to the community he lived in.
On September 19, 1970, Rick was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Over the years, he served as an elder and full-time evangelizer with the Franklin Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved sharing his faith and spent many hours teaching others about the bible. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he also volunteered his time to share in the construction of Kingdom Halls in the region, including the Franklin Kingdom Hall.
Rick was well known for his love of people and people loved him. He was naturally friendly kind and generous, always willing to help anyone in need because he cared. He was a hard worker and a loyal friend. While he loved all animals and the beauty of creation, it was people - family and friends, who were most important to him. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
