Richard James Mulholland, 26, of Oil City, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2018. Richard was born on January 23, 1992 in Franklin to Richard and Lisa McDeavitt Mulholland.
Richard was a 2010 graduate of Venango Catholic High School. Richard went on to serve in the United States Army with two deployments to Afghanistan from 2010-2014, and he was currently serving in the United States Army National Guard, as well as working as a corrections officer for SCI Forest.
Richard loved to spend time outdoors, fishing, golfing, kayaking, mountain biking, and also enjoyed playing guitar. He was a member of the Myrtle Lodge #316 F&AM, and Commander at Oil City V.F.W. Post #464, and previously the Jr. Vice Commander.
On July 16, 2013 he married his wife, Jena Mulholland, she survives at home.
In addition to his parents and wife, Richard is survived by his brother, Jonathan Mulholland, of Franklin; his paternal grandmother, Albina Mulholland, of Franklin; his maternal grandfather, Charles (Monica) McDeavitt, of Grove City; his maternal grandmother, Karen Moors, of Butler; his father-in-law, Steven W. Rowland of Tionesta; his mother-in-law, Jennie Rodebaugh, of Franklin; two brothers-in-law, Steven T. Rowland, of Franklin, and Liam Yeager, also of Franklin.
Richard was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Mulholland.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 312 W. Park Street, Franklin, where family and friends are welcome from 11am until 1:45 pm on Friday, July 6.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Church, 949 Liberty Street, Franklin, at 2 pm on Friday, July 6, with the Monsignor John J. Herbein, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery where full Military Honors will be rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard and the S.C.I. Forest Honor Guard.
