Richard L. Smith

Richard L. Smith, 81 of Franklin died at 6:15 P.M. Sunday October 25, 2009 in Fairview Manor, Erie County.
He was born in Corry, PA on January 12, 1928 a son of Harry and Lena Hasson Smith. He was a graduate of Franklin High School.
Mr. Smith was employed by Amalie Refinery for over 25 years then for Pennzoil in the shipping department, retiring in 1990.
He was an active member of the Galloway Grange and was also a member of the Utica Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Smith enjoyed working around his property.
On August 12, 1950 he married the former Joan L. Keith who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters Karen Longnecker and her husband Grover of Fairview and Patricia Smith and her husband James Paskert of Girard; four grandchildren Stacie Baideme and her husband Mark of Edinboro, Theresa Longnecker of Fairview, Richard Longnecker of Fairview and Joshua Smith Paskert of Pittsburgh.
There will be a private visitation and service at the Huff Chapel , 312 W. Park St., Franklin.
Interment will be made in Lupher Chapel Cemetery.
