Richard L. Vogan

Richard L. Vogan, 83 of Polk, passed away at UPMC Northwest on July 1, 2017 at 7:57 AM. Richard was born in Franklin on April 20, 1934 to the late Barton and Gertrude Myers Vogan.

Richard attended Rocky Grove High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Richard married his loving wife, Phyllis Ritchey Vogan, on March 24, 1956, she survives. Richard was one of the first members of the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard and was also a member of the Franklin Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1835. He loved to fish and hunt, especially fly fishing and tying his own flies. Richard also had his private pilot's license and loved to fly. Nothing brought Richard more joy than the company and love of his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his three children, John Vogan and his wife Jeanette of Fountain Hills, AZ, Richard "Butch" Vogan and his companion Hortensia Miller of Franklin, and Charlene Davis and her husband Tom of Richmond, VA, three granddaughters, Jessica, Natalie, and Alyssa all of Colorado, and his great-granddaughter Kaya also of Colorado, two sisters, Sandra Schmader and her husband Terry of Colorado, and Helen Miller of Arkansas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother Barton Vogan, Jr. and his sister Betty Phenicie

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 312 W. Park Street, Franklin, where family and friends are welcome from 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, July 5.

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home's chapel on Thursday, July 6, at 11 am

Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery where full Military Honors will be rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
