Robert M. Eyler Jr., 71 of 146 Nettles Lane died at 9:55 P.M. Saturday May 21, 2011 at UPMC Northwest.
Born July 25, 1939 in Springdale, PA he was the son of the late Robert and Rosella Adams Eyler.
He was a graduate of St. Joseph?s High School in Natrona Heights.
Bob drove truck for 23 years with Air Products & Chemicals and with Findlay Welding for the remainder of his career. He was a three million mile driver with no incidents.
He enjoyed his retirement, sprint car racing with his son Rob, golfing, bowling, fishing with his grandchildren and traveling with all his special friends.
He was a member of the Franklin Elks, Moose, Eagles and VETS Club?s.
On March 30, 1962 he married his best friend, the former Nancy Taylor, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Lisa Eyler and her special friend Dale Phair of Butler and a son Robert M. Eyler III and his wife Barbara of Franklin; five grandchildren, Kirk Breithaupt, Austin Eyler, and Braden Eyler, Randy Facemire, and Autumn Uber and her husband Chad; one great-grandson Troy Uber; a brother Dennis Eyler of Butler; his father in law Wilbert E. Taylor Sr.; a sister in law Peggy Rossi and her husband Don; and a brother in law Wilbert Taylor Jr. and his special friend Tina McFeaters.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Christine Elizabeth Eyler; a grand daughter Allison Eyler; a sister in law Roberta Taylor; his mother in law Elizabeth Taylor and his best friend, his Rottweiler, Cheyanne.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-9 P.M. at the Huff Chapel Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday in St. Patrick Church by Monsignor John J. Herbein.
Interment will follow at Old Sandy Cemetery.
