Robert V. Bajorek

Robert V. Bajorek, 72, of Franklin died 8:23 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at UPMC Northwest, Seneca.



A son of Peter and Stella Kuffel Bajorek he was born in Franklin on April 10, 1941. He was a graduate of Franklin High School and completed a police criminology study at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He also completed a course of study at the FBI Academy.



Detective Lieutenant Bajorek retired from the Franklin City Police Department in 1988 after 23 years of service. Bob became the circulation manager for the Derrick Publishing Company and retired in 2003.



He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.



Bob was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Pulaski Club, Franklin Elk?s Lodge, the American Legion, Franklin VFW and the Franklin Moose Lodge. He was devoted to his family, enjoyed time with his friends and was a good neighbor helping out whenever possible. He completed many woodworking projects, loved to travel and was an avid stamp and coin collector.



On June 3, 1967 he married the former Patricia Cherry, she survives along with two daughters Tessa Miller and her husband Matthew of Oil City and Tami Bowman and her husband James of York; three granddaughters Sydney Miller, Kendall Miller and Elizabeth Bowman. Also surviving are a brother James Bajorek and his wife Maribeth of Franklin and a sister Jean Bajorek of Franklin.



Friends will be received in the Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 W. Park St. Franklin from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Assumption BVM Church in Oil City with the Rev. Justin Pino presiding.
