Sara A. Mong, 95, former Rocky Grove resident died at 5:14 a.m. Sunday February 14, 2010 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan Ohio.
A daughter of Howard and Bertie Renniger Tidball she was born August 23, 1914 in the Franklin area. She was a member of the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church and a member of the O.U.R. class in the church. She had been a member of the Nursery Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
She had assisted her husband while he served as superintendent of Venango Manor.
She married Merle B. Mong and they celebrated 68 years of marriage before his death on July 7, 2001. Surviving are a son Boyd Mong and his wife Nancy of Denver, Colorado, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law Helen Jane Mong of Logan, OH and a niece Mabel Mong of Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Frederick Mong, a granddaughter Chrissy Mong and three brothers Herman, Curry and Boyd Tidball.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St, Franklin from 10-11 a.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with The Rev. David Bell officiating.
Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
