Sara J. Stevens

Sara J. Stevens, 94, of Franklin, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 12:20 PM at The Caring Place.

She was born on May 17, 1925 in Berlin, OH to the late Earl Emanuel and Isabell Mae Shoffstall Baum.

Mrs. Stevens was a member of Fox Street Church of God. She was very active in her church, as she was a Sunday school teacher and involved in the youth group. She also went on Mission Trips with her church. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting and designing stained glass. She was a member of the Pine Grove Rovers Camping Club. Mrs. Stevens was known for her caring heart. She was always comforting people in nursing homes, or going to visit people when they were sick in their homes.

She married William R. Stevens on May 25, 1942 and he preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children: Janet Karenbauer and her husband, Harvey, of Orlando, FL, Jackie Lamberton and her husband, Robert, of Franklin; her grandchildren: Michael Robert Clark and his wife, Lauren, of New Bedford, Mass., Sarah Johnston and her husband, Bobby, of Grove City, Jessica Brown and her husband, Michael, of Greenwood, IN, Laura Witherup and her husband, Darin, of Allison Park and Bob Lamberton and his wife, Julie, of Lower Burrell; her great-grandchildren, Teigan Winifred Clark, Mike Brown, Gracie Brown, Kaylee Brown, Taylor, Jenna, Carly, Olivia, Shawn and Lucas; her great-great-grandchildren, Harper, Briar and River; and a sister, Wanda Heffernan, of Franklin.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angela Marie Clark, and her siblings, Forrest, Earl, Nadine and Thalia.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 312 W. Park Street, Franklin, PA where family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.

A funeral service will follow at Fox Street Church of God, 229 Fox Street, Franklin, PA 16323 on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 5:00 PM.

Interment will be made at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
