Sarah Lee Spackman Masters Ricalton, 86, of Franklin, daughter of William Earl and Mary Elizabeth Kissell Spackman, died June 24, 2016, after a brief illness.
She was born June 11, 1930, in Jersey Shore, PA, and moved to Franklin with her family from Williamsburg, PA in 1933.
Sarah (Sally) attended Franklin public schools, graduating from Franklin High in 1948. During her high school years, she performed in her junior and senior class plays and for several years was chairman of her class reunions.
Upon graduation, Sally worked in the office of James Lumber Co. She married Warren E. Masters in 1952 and from 1952-1957 she spent three years in Germany and one year each in Dothan, AL and Atlanta, GA.
In May 1957, she and her children returned to Franklin. Upon the death of her mother, Sally assumed her mother's duties as president of the Women's Society of Christian Service (now the United Methodist Women) of the First United Methodist Church. From 1957 to 1962 she worked in the bookkeeping department of the Exchange Bank and Trust Company.
Sally married Jack L. Ricalton on April 6, 1962 and had two more children.
She served as president of Rocky Grove Women's League, Franklin Civic League, Venango County Federated Women's Clubs, and the Ladies Auxillary of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers.
In 1978, Sally went to work for J.C. Penney Co., retiring after 20 years of service.
In the mid-80s, she began making jewelry and jewelry collages on velvet. In the early 90's, she began selling crafts and antiques at Liberty Street Antiques in Franklin. She also became involved with Franklin Fine Arts Council.
Sally was preceded in death by three sisters, Inez Angus, Jane McBride, Joan Hahn, her husband, Jack Ricalton, and one daughter, Rebecca Masters.
She is survived by two sisters: Lois Minnigh, Grace Orlando, and six children: Greer Masters, Kaye Masters, Lee Masters Witherup (Vince), Mike Masters (Janet), Patricia Rotman (Barry), and Nancy Kersavage (Brad).
Sally is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Stephen Sinnott, Cheryl Sinnott, Jennifer Jackson, Jeremy Blair, Katie Jolley, Ashley Malone, Hannah Masters, Jordan Masters, Serik Rotman, Sam Rotman, Shawn Witherup, Kelly Witherup Dolecki as well as 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin, where family and friends are welcome from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeff Little of First United Methodist Church and Rev. David Janz of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
