Scott A. Scannell

Scott A. Scannell, 46 of Guys Mills, formerly of the Cooperstown area passed away at 11:04 P.M. Monday October 21, 2013 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Born April 23, 1967 in Painesville, OH he was a son of the late Harold L. and Norma Krepp Scannell.

Scott?s passion in life was firefighting and for over 27 years he served as a volunteer fire fighter. He served with the Cooperstown and Meadville Volunteer Fire Departments. He served six years as Chief of the Meadville Fire Department and also two years with the Auxiliary Fire Police.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and the Miami Dolphins. He loved spending time with his dog Rebel.

On October 12, 1985, he married the former Wendy Henning and she survives.
Also surviving is a son; David Scannell and his wife Kimmy; two daughters; Melissa Scannell and her fiancé Scott Rudd and Tamara Scannell; a brother, Harold Scannell and his wife Jennifer; a sister, Ruth Hohn; and four grandchildren, Skyler Scannell, Kenneth Scannell, Ridge Scannell and Abigail Rudd.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Charles Krepp and Robert Scannell.

Family and friends welcome Friday from 11:00 A.M. ? 1:00 P.M. at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow at Cooperstown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be sent to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses.
