November 3, 1959 — October 26, 2017

Sherry Lee Wilson, 57 of Franklin, passed away at 3:33 AM on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA. Sherry was a fighter continuing to do so up until the end. She was born in Riverside, California on November 3, 1959 to the late Norman Leroy and Anna Louise Duttry Sanford.

Sherry worked at Polk Center for over 20 years as a Resident Service Aide. She loved working at Polk and it was her true passion to help the mentally handicapped.

When Sherry wasn't enjoying her work she was at home taking care of her children and then later on her grandchildren. They were her world and she dedicated her life to them. She would always say "They come first, before me". She would spend time with her grandchildren any chance that she could. Sherry also loved yardsaling, fireworks, and watching T.V. with her husband, some of her favorite shows being Charmed, Major Crimes, Supernatural, Law & Order, and Born This Way. Sherry loved to spend time with her dear friends who were with her until the end, Ellen, Josh, Mel, and her Polk Family.

Sherry is survived by her husband of 21 years, John A. Wilson Sr. whom she married on April 12, 1996.

In addition to her husband, Sherry is survived by her four children, Jill Sanford and her life partner Beth Avoy of Franklin, Kelly Rosales and her spouse Nicky of Oil City, Terri Burroway and her husband Steven of Tennessee, and John A. Wilson II of Franklin, twelve grandchildren, Devin, Tyler, Misty, Mason, Anna, Isabel, Shay, Aaliyah, Maddison, Silas, Camden, and Asher, a sister Susan Cancilla and her partner Dave Pegg of Franklin, brothers Norman "Lee" Sanford of Pittsburgh and Dana Mack and his wife Linda of Utica, her mother-in-law Ruth Eakin, and her two beloved cats, Bella and Squeek.

In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her brothers Gary Sanford, Terry Sanford, Don Sanford, and James Palmer, a sister Kim Baker, a grandson Seth Dickinson, her father-in-law Raymond Eakin, and a brother-in-law Joe Cancilla.
