Shirley L. Shuffstall, 85, of Cooperstown, died at 4:35 p.m. Thursday June 16, 2016 at UPMC Northwest, Seneca.
A daughter of Homer Wayne and Mary Boughner Beatty, she was born in Franklin on August 16, 1930.
She had worked as a waitress and cafeteria cook. She and her husband had owned and operated the Wyattville Country Store.
Shirley had been a member of the Women of the Moose in Franklin. She enjoyed camping, garage sales and bluegrass music. Her world revolved around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her cat and dog were constant companions.
On June 15, 1964 she married Allen A. Shuffstall, he survives along with a son, Leonard W. Rice and his companion Caroline Miller of Cooperstown; 3 grandchildren Jennifer Lytle and her husband Jim of Franklin, Angela Kiselka and her boyfriend Adam Bartlett and Scott Rice and his girlfriend Nicci Edwards of Cooperstown; 7 great-grandchilden Lacey Beers, Garrett Beers, Audrey Incorvia, Gary Kiselka III, Kaden Kiselka, Brooklynn Rice and Jaelyn Edwards; an a great-great-grandson Jordan James Incorvia Jr. Her brother Albert Dodge of Oil City also survives.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother Harry Beatty and a brother in infancy.
There will be no public visitation.
Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services have been entrusted with her funeral arrangements.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cooperstown Cemetery.
