Terry W. Mcmurray

Terry W. McMurray, 62 of Franklin died unexpectedly on Thursday August 22, 2013 shortly after his arrival at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born June 27, 1951 in Franklin he was the son of Paul McMurray and the late Barbara Smoyer Bacher .

He was a graduate of Franklin High School.

Terry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting guns and more recently spending time on his computer.

He started out working as a mechanic at his father?s former business, McKissick Garage. Terry was extremely knowledgeable is all areas of the automotive business and earned numerous certifications. He was a certified GMC technician and was also ASE certified. Terry also worked as Service Manager at Dart?s in Greenville. He truly excelled in everything he did.

For the last 20 years, Terry was worked as a Corrections officer at the Venango County Jail. He loved his job and took great pride in being able to help rehabilitate the inmates and treated everyone one of them with dignity and respect.

On December 15, 1990, he married the former Melissa Grill and she survives.
Also surviving is his step-mother, Dorothy McMurray; two brothers, Steven McMurray of Franklin and Rodney McMurray and his wife Cindy of Franklin; one sister, Paula Flinchbaugh and her husband Jack of Rockland; a step-brother Jeff Mackey and wife Michelle of McKean; a brother in law, Larry Grill of Franklin; two nieces, Shannon Morrow and her husband Michael and Cassie McMurray; and five nephews, Billy Parker, Jackson Flinchbaugh, Joseph Grill, Shawn Grill and Jason Grill.

He is additionally survived by a great-nephew, Grady Morrow; and five great-nieces, Blakely Morrow, Madison Klinger, Maybrie Grill, Emeline Grill and MacKenzie Grill.

Also surviving are his beloved dogs, Winnie and Dillon.

Family and friends welcome Tuesday from 2:00-7:00 P.M. at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 W. Park St. Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Janz, Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin, officiating.
