Velma I. Jamison, 83, formerly of Harrisville, died at 4:55 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Living Center, Grove City, where she made her home since January 2007. Born in Bessemer, Sept. 4, 1927, she was the daughter of Floyd J. McGinnis and Pearl D. (Lindsey) McGinnis. She did housekeeping in Harrisville for several years. She was a member of Harrisville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed country western music, dancing, going to community dinners and spending time with her family. Surviving are a daughter, Jamie L. Best and her husband, Tony, of Grove City; a son, Rex A. Jamison of Lorain, Ohio; three grandchildren, Nicki Waida, Rawn Kerr and Salena King; and four great-grandchildren, Blake King, Stephen Waida, Cassandra Waida and Alexis Kerr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne McGinnis; and an infant daughter, Shawn L. Jamison. The family would like to thank the staff of Trinity Living Center for the exceptional care given to Velma and her family. JAMISON - Services for Velma I. Jamison, who died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville, with Chaplain Patricia A. Sawaya, chaplain at the Trinity Living Center, officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
