Verda C. "Sue" Grossman

Verda C. "Sue" Grossman, 56, of Barkey-Hoffman Road, Harrisville, died at 10:17 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at UPMC Northwest. Born in Grove City on April 28, 1954, she was a daughter of Merl N. Hoffman and Sarah R. VanDyke Hoffman. She was a 1972 graduate of Franklin High School. She was an office worker for the former Adobie Mining, and an office worker for the former Palmer Smith Company of Grove City. Mrs. Grossman was a member of the Barkeyville Church of God. She was a member of White Shrine of Jerusalem, Grove City Chapter No. 53, a member of the Clintonville Women's Club, and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was married to Garner L. Grossman on March 11, 1972, and he survives at the residence. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Brandi L. Ealey and her husband Larry D. of Harrisville, and Rebecca J. Kelly and her husband Edward P. of Springfield; a son, Daniel L. Grossman and his wife Brooke A. of Harrisville; seven grandchildren, Jordan Ealey, Kait Ealey, Jack Kelly, Erin, Kelly and Aidan Grossman, Jaelynn Collins, and Easton Grossman; four sisters, Merlene Martin, Betty Lang, Helen Hoffman, and Rue Finch; four brothers, Edward Hoffman, David Hoffman, Randy Hoffman, and Robert Hoffman; and her father, Merl. N. Hoffman and his special friend Marge of Harrisville. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Hoffman; a brother, Harold Hoffman; and a granddaughter, Alexandra Ealey. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Barkeyville Church of God with the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Guy of the church officiating.
