Violeta C. Oravsky, 67 of Harrisville, passed away on November 3, 2017 at 12:50 pm at Transitions Healthcare Autumn Grove in Harrisville. Violeta was born on July 3, 1950 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to the late Basiliso and Angela Ramos Ramirez.
Violeta was a licensed practical nurse and loved to help people. She was a huge New York Yankees fan and knew every player on the team and many of their stats. Her absolute favorite player on the Yankees was Derek Jeter, always saying "that's my baby" as he came out on the field. Violeta also loved to go fishing, playing solitaire, and dancing. She was an avid Law & Order Special Victims Unit fan, watching it almost constantly. She had a wonderful dog whom she loved very much named Chelsea.
Violeta is survived by her husband George J. Oravsky.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Luis Alvarez, Isabel Alvarez, Thomas Alvarez, Juan Alvarez, and Udell Ramirez, her grandchildren Ashley Alvarez, Luis Alvarez Jr., Jasmine Medina, Monica Alvarez, Chandler Applegate, Steven Alvarez, Emily McCaslin, and Alayna Ramirez, and her siblings Esther Hernandez, Tony Gandulla, Jose Santos, and Martha Gonzales.
In addition to her parents, Violeta was preceded in death by her grandson Hector Alvarez.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jamison Funeral Home, Inc. 117 N. Main Street Harrisville.
There will be no public visitation.
