Wendy E. Sloss

Wendy E. Sloss, 73, of Reno, passed away at 5:53 P.M., Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at UPMC Hamot after a very brief illness. 

Born in Titusville on March 12, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Nannie Rifenberrick Brown. 

She was a 1969 graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

Wendy was an avid reader who read thousands of books in her lifetime. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Tom; traveling across the country and making stops at the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and Nashville just to name a few. They also enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winter. She enjoyed spending time at her family cottage in Hydetown. 

On August 21, 1971 she married Tom Sloss and he survives after 53 years of marriage. 

Also surviving is a son, Ed Sloss and his wife Emily of Reno; three grandchildren, William Dolan, Piper Sloss and Aedan Sloss; a sister, Eva Carlson of Titusville and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her birth mother, Opal, a daughter, Lori Lynn Sloss and a grandchild Shane Baker. 

At Wendy’s request there will be no visitation or services.
