Willard James "Jim" Fike, 85, of Cooperstown, passed away at 11:20 A.M. Saturday, November 9, 2024 at his home peacefully in his sleep following a long illness.
He was born August 26, 1939 in Sykesville, PA and was the son of the late Clair C. and Frances Case Fike.
Jim graduated from Oil City High School in 1958.
After a short time serving in the United States Marine Corps, Jim worked as an auto mechanic and a semi truck driver. He then went to work at National Forge Co. retiring from there after 31 years. He then went to work at Baker's Transportation as a mechanic and later he worked at Lepley's Bus Service until he retired for good at age 75.
Jim enjoyed many different hobbies including, golf, bowling, playing softball, boating, camping, water skiing and riding his Gold Wing on many rides.
He married Ann Prichard on July 12, 1986 and she survives. Together they raised five children, three Prichards and two Fikes.
Surviving is a brother, Donald Fike; sister-in-law, Sally Fike and his four children, Brenda McCool and her husband Jeff, Eric Fike and his wife Darlene, Donald Prichard, Steven Prichard; a son in law, Mark Baker, and eleven grandchildren, Rob Douglas, Mike Nagl, Christi Culver, Jessica O'Dell, Coty Prichard, Brittany Fike, Kristen Thompson, Andrew Malone, Nicole Hosier, Heather McCool and Jr. McCool; 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley Fuller, Virginia Carter and Sarah Gallagher; brothers, Robert, Clarence, Jack and his twin brother, John Fike; a daughter, Vicki Baker; a daughter in law, Deb Prichard and a great-grandson Nolan Peters.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday at Cooperstown United Methodist Church, 156 Cooperstown Dempseytown Rd., Cooperstown, PA 16317 with Pastor David McVay, officiating.
Military Honors will be rendered by the V.E.T.S Honor Guard at the conclusion of the funeral service.
