William J. Bogert, 77, formerly of Buffalo Street, died at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Mr. Bogert has been residing at Sugar Creek Station for several years.
A son of William M. and Ethel D. Klaus Bogert he was born in Hackensack, NJ on August 22, 1933. He was a graduate of Hickory High School and received his bachelor?s degree from Youngstown State University.
Mr. Bogert had been employed as a design engineer for PENNDOT. He retired in November 1991.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
When his health permitted he enjoyed tinkering around the house.
On June 21, 1980 he married the former Dolores Fry, who died February 13, 2009.
Surviving are a step-daughter Tammi Ruditis and her husband Terry of Franklin; a step-son Arthur Ray Montgomery Jr. and his wife Barbara of Franklin; 6 step-grandchildren Tonya Montgomery of N.C., Allen Montgomery of Franklin, Ryan Ruditis and his girlfriend Shaughnesy Sullivan of Franklin, Jessica Kerr and her husband Shawn of Franklin, Nathan Ruditis of Franklin, Chas Wentworth and his wife Karina of Sandy Lake; 6 step-great-grandsons and 2 step-great-granddaughters. Also surviving are a sister Ruth Wible and her husband Duane of Florida, a niece Karen Yancone of Maryland and a nephew William D. Wible of Alabama.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a grandson Anthony Montgomery.
There will be no public visitation.
Memorial services will be held in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. at 1 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Richard Harry, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will follow in Graham Cemetery.
The family has suggested memorial donations be made to The First United Methodist Church, 1100 Liberty Street, Franklin, PA 16323.
