William Vincent Krepp, 87, a former resident of Rocky Grove, passed away on July 27, 2023 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center where he has resided since last September.
Bill lived most of his entire life in Rocky Grove. Bill and his late wife Gail lived on Old Mercer Road during their first years of marriage and then purchased their home at 4 Kenneth Street.
Bill was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School and then went on to serve in the United States Army.
He was the son of the late Meade and Nina Krepp.
Bill married the late Gail Joann Black on October 13, 1958 and she preceded him in death in 2011. Together they were blessed with three children, Tammy Mae (Krepp) Hoover, Randy William Krepp and Kevin Earl Krepp who died in 2014.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Rocky Gove for many years where he served on the board and as an usher.
He enjoyed model trains and had quite the setup of trains, villages and people. Bill also enjoyed golf, western TV shows, sports on TV, fishing, taking walks around his neighborhood and also watching his grandchildren play sports. In his younger days, he enjoyed taking slides and videos of the family. A fun Saturday night, was watching those slides and videos.
He was able to attend the annual Krepp reunion on the last Saturday of July 2023. Bill and his brother Bus (Earl) were the last two remaining children in the Meade/Krepp Family.
Surviving is a daughter, Tammy Krepp Hoover and her husband Bob of Franklin; a son, Randy Krepp of Bally, PA and a daughter-in-law, Kim Krepp and her fiancé Tim Snyder of Franklin; a brother, Earl “Bus” Krepp and his late wife Dorothy who passed away July 24, 2023, a sister-in-law, Vicki Black Clark and her husband Allen of Utica, sister-in-law, Sheree Black and (Mrs. Donald Black Sr.) of West Virginia, sister-in-law, Rose Black Voorhees (formerly Mrs. Frank Black) of Franklin.
Left to cherish his memory are six grandchildren, Marci Hoover of Franklin, Staci Hoover Dunmire and significant other, Jake Harris of Franklin, Robert Krepp of Bally, PA, Selena (Krepp) Malaggese and husband Kevin of Tunkhannock, PA, Matt Blum and his wife Jessica of Rocky Grove and Julie D’Amico and significant other, Michael Shaffer of Rocky Grove; 14 great-grandchildren, Mykah Stone, Aleyah Stone, Markus Stone, Payden Dunmire, J.R. Harris, Jaylynn Harris, Gabriel Malaggese, Rowland Malaggese, Dylan D’Amico, Lucy Shaffer, Annabelle Shaffer, Paige Blum, Aurora Blum and Matthew Blum and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Additionally surviving is his lifelong friend of 80 years, Robert Hufnagel and the father of three of his great-grandchildren, Wally Stone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gail in 2011, son Kevin Krepp in 2014, granddaughter, Cristi Hoover in 2015, brothers, Bob Krepp, Paul Krepp and sister Sis Rodgers; his wife’s family including his mother and father in-law, Paul and Mae Black, brothers-in-law, Charles Black, Frank Black, Vern Black Sr. and Don Black Sr. and sister-in-laws, Becky Black and Lucille Black.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. Wednesday.
A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kenneth Duffee, officiating.
Interment with Military Honors by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
