Wynona I. “Lolly” Tarr, 87, of Polk, passed away the morning of Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the Caring Place in Franklin. 

Lolly was born on January 4, 1937 in Pittsburgh. 

She was a student of Rocky Grove High School. Later in life, she began cooking for the residents at Polk Center and retired after 17 years. 

Lolly was a 70+ year member of Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin. She was a devoted Christian woman and was an integral member of the congregation. 

She married her late husband, James W. “Web” Tarr in May of 1974. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2005

She was an accomplished piano player and loved sharing her musical gift. Lolly could listen to a tune once and immediately be able to play it by heart. Her family fondly remembers her watching cartoons with her great grandchildren and playing card games during family time. Lolly found joy in feeding her family and cooking big holiday meals. Quality time was an incredibly important part of her life. 

Surviving Lolly is her son, James Kilgore and his wife Pamela of Polk, and their four children; William Kilgore and his wife Dawn of Oil City, MeriBeth Glenn and her husband Mike of Boyers, Amanda Bavuso and her husband Adam of Franklin, and Kate Ralph and her husband Shawn, of Oil City. Additionally surviving is Lolly’s beloved cousin, Bea Gauger. Also left to cherish her memory is her daughter in-law, Carol Kilgore, and her grandchildren, Boodle Kilgore, Dale Kilgore, Skeet Kilgore, Anita Kilgore, Ashley Kilgore, Tyler Perry, Shevelle Reynolds and her husband Charles. Lolly also leaves behind many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. 

Lolly was preceded in death by her mother Wynona White Scott and stepfather William Scott. Also preceding her in death is her husband; son, Robert K. Kilgore; granddaughter, Ann Marie Kilgore; grandson, Michael Glenn Kilgore. 

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 312 West Park Street, Franklin PA 16323. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo Street, Franklin.

A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Darrell Greenawalt and Rev. Sam Wager, officiating. 

Interment will be at Lupher Chapel Cemetery.
