Zora DeWayne "Butch" White, 86, of Franklin, passed away December 6, 2024 at the Caring Place in Franklin.
Born on March 22, 1938 on Adams Street, Oak Hill in Franklin, Butch was the son of Zetha DeEtta (McElhaney) and Chalmers Wayne White.
Butch attended Franklin Area School District.
He married Susan D. Atha on November 9th, 1966, and she survives.
Butch worked several jobs including truck driving, welding, and metal fabricating. A few of his favorite employers included Bob’s Sales and Service, the Joy, and Kebert’s Construction where he retired.
Butch loved reading and writing western novels, collecting “antiques” (some call it junk), dancing, and going for a long drive. He loved to tell a good story about all his adventures throughout life. He was always a jokester with his grandchildren, and younger nieces and nephews, making them laugh and teaching them many goofy things to do. To most, he was the fixer of all things big and small and always had a creative way to solve a problem.
Left to keep his stories alive are his loving wife of 58 years, Susan White; his daughter, Kimberly White; his son Lonnie and wife Shirley White; Son-in-Law Brian Baden; Grandson Jesse and wife Chelsea Baden; Granddaughters Karlee and Emmalee Baden, and Onna (Whitling) and husband Brandon Sernik; Great-grandchildren, Ryder Sterling, Blake, Bentley, and Chase Baden. He was a favorite uncle to many in the family as well as friends.
He will be joyfully greeted by several loved ones in heaven, including his parents, his sister Elaine Jacoby, his daughter Lori (White) Baden, his son Lowell White, and grandson Dustin Baden.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St., Franklin where family and friends are welcome Tuesday, December 10 from 2:00 P.M. - 5:30 P.M.
